Standalone 10K
The Standalone 10K is a long-standing community event held in Letchworth Garden City. Organized by the North Herts Road Runners, the race is held on a measured 10 km course that consists of fully closed roads. The event is chip-timed and attracts a variety of participants, from competitive local athletes to those completing the distance for social reasons.
The race starts and finishes at Standalone Farm, which provides facilities such as food and drink stalls. Participants can find water stations at the 5 km mark and at the finish line. The course is supported by a team of club marshals and features live music to provide entertainment for runners along the route.
The event offers several sustainability options, including a finisher T-shirt made from recycled materials or the choice to plant a tree instead. Cash prizes are available across multiple categories, including awards for local un-attached runners. The race serves as a fundraiser for local causes, with recent efforts supporting the charity GRIT (Growing Resilience in Teens).
Ample parking is available at the venue, and the organizers encourage local participants to walk or cycle to the farm to reduce the environmental impact of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
