Overview
The St Peters Way Ultra is an approximately 42-mile trail race in Essex from Chipping Ongar to the Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall at Bradwell on Sea. The route follows historic footpaths and bridleways, includes some road and village sections, and finishes along a raised sea wall. The event is open to entrants aged 18 and over and entries close two weeks before the race date.
Route and checkpoints
The course runs over trails, fields, rural tracks and some roads. Underfoot conditions range from short grass to very sticky mud and the final miles can be cold, wet and windy. The route is waymarked but requires basic navigation; organisers provide GPX files and runners are fitted with live trackers. Sweepers and staffed checkpoints support runners on the route.
