Run The Caves
Run The Caves is the third annual ultra and trail race presented by Body and Mind Adventures. The event aims to provide accessible race options and to raise awareness for the Canadian Mental Health Association; a portion of registration fees will be donated to CMHA. Organizers work with Otonabee Conservation Areas staff, volunteers, and sponsors to promote environmental responsibility. The event is cup-free.
The course runs on mostly single-track trails with a soft forest floor, exposed rocks and tree roots, some sandy beach sections, and short stretches of gravel road. Trail scenery includes shaded old-growth forest and occasional wide open lookouts that offer views of the Indian River valley, along with potholes, kettles, and sections where the river flows beneath the rock.
The race takes place at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area in the Indian River valley, about 25 minutes from Peterborough. Warsaw Caves provides recreational facilities including swimming, fishing, camping, picnic areas, and hiking trails, with over 20 kilometers of trails through forests and limestone plains.
