Event overview
The St. Paddy’s Day Run Tacoma takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in downtown Tacoma. The event offers multiple race options:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K (3.1 miles)
Start and finish are located in downtown Tacoma at 815 Pacific Avenue. All finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal.
Course, services and logistics
The half marathon is an out-and-back course that follows the waterfront, connects to the Ruston Way Path, passes the Point Ruston Waterwalk and Dune Peninsula Park, and includes an out-and-back segment over the Wilson Way Bridge before returning downtown. The 10K follows part of the half marathon waterfront route. The 5K is a 3.1 mile community event for runners and walkers.
Aid stations are placed approximately every 2 miles on the half marathon course and provide water, electrolyte drinks, Vaseline, basic first aid, and occasional energy gels; some stations include porta-potties. Medical personnel are available on course and at the finish. There is a 3-hour time limit for the half marathon. Finish-line food and beverages are provided.
Packet pickup is available before race day and on race morning at the start lines. Gear check is provided at the start; bags are claimed after finishing using the bib number. Race timing is provided by Ready, Set…Time! and photos are provided by CJ Photography. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
Registration, shirts and awards
Registration includes a finisher medal, and race swag includes a long-sleeve tech shirt for half marathon entrants and t-shirts for 5K/10K entrants; there are cutoff dates to guarantee shirt availability. A collective bib option and optional merchandise are available during registration. Team discounts apply at set team sizes.
