St. Monica Summerfest 5K Run/Walk and Mini Mustang Dash
The event is a community road race held at St. Monica Academy, located at 7100 West Carmen Avenue in Chicago. The main event is a chip-timed 5K run/walk that follows a course through the surrounding neighborhood and finishes back at the school as the annual Summerfest begins. A separate children’s race, the Mini Mustang Dash, is held at the race start line and is intended for young participants.
Registration for the event includes a race bag with a commemorative race shirt and additional items, plus a voucher redeemable for one complimentary beverage at the Summerfest. Packet pickup takes place on August 20 and August 21 at Dick Pond Athletics, 575 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, in the Village Green Shopping Center; pickup times are from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Prizes are awarded to the first-place finishers in the male and female categories in the 5K in the form of a gift card from Dick Pond Athletics. All proceeds from the event benefit St. Monica Academy, a Catholic elementary school community that emphasizes academic development alongside the spirit, the mind, and the heart.
