54th Annual Applefest Road Race
The St. John Applefest Road Race is a long-standing tradition in Fenton, Michigan, held in conjunction with the St. John Applefest Festival. The event features multiple distances conducted on 100% paved road courses that wind through the local streets. Participants can choose from several individual events or take part in a "Double Challenge" by registering for both a one-mile race and a longer distance.
Available distances include:
- 10K Run
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1-Mile
- 1/4 Mile
The 10K Run consists of two laps of the 5K course, providing runners with a split time and specific rankings. All participants receive a custom finisher medal and a custom dri-fit race shirt, though an economy registration option without a shirt or medal is available for a reduced fee. The event utilizes chip timing with live results, mile markers, and professional sound systems.
Registered participants have access to free professional race photos and post-race refreshments. Following the competition, an award ceremony and a pancake breakfast are held at St. John Catholic Church. Overall awards are presented to the top three fastest male and female finishers, while age group awards are given to the top male and female in each category. Race participants receive a discount for the breakfast. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
