Event details
The St James Rail Run is scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026, and is held annually in conjunction with St. James Rail Road Days. The event takes place at St. James Salutators Railroad Museum Park and is held rain or shine. Distances offered are:
- Kids 1/2 mile
- 1 mile
- 4 mile walk
- 4 mile run
Registration for the 2026 event opens February 1, 2026 at 8:00 am CST. Listed entry prices include processing fees: the kids event is $6.30 (includes a $1.30 fee) and the other events are $22.20 (includes a $2.20 fee).
Additional information
Teams of five or more receive a $5 discount per racer. T-shirts from the prior event are available for pickup at Pioneer Bank in St. James (123 Armstrong Blvd. S.) during lobby hours (8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday). The race awards medals to the top three in each age group; sponsors have helped cover those costs over recent years. There is an option for participants to register "for someone who cannot participate" and add a name to a display. Results from the 41st annual Rail Run are posted and the 42nd annual Rail Run is planned for June 25, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
