About the race
The St Helena Hospice Half Marathon & 10k takes place on 03 October 2027 at Low Road Recreational Ground, Harwich, CO12 3TA. The event is organised to raise funds for St Helena Hospice, a Colchester based charity that provides palliative and end of life care in north east Essex and support for those affected by bereavement.
The event features two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
The course runs mostly on tarmac and is described as undulating. Runners will pass sections of promenade with sea views. Detailed route maps and GPX files are made available for both races.
Two ticket types are highlighted. HEROES entries include an additional donation that helps cover specific support services: a half hour of family support worker time for a family via the half marathon HEROES ticket, and a 30 minute advice and support session from a counsellor via the 10k HEROES ticket. On-the-day entry fees are listed as £40 for the half marathon and £35 for the 10k. Advance pricing and tiered offers have been published for earlier entries.
Event facilities include an event village, bespoke finisher medals and chip timing.
