St. Francis of Assisi 5K
The 4th Annual St. Francis of Assisi 5K takes place on October 17, 2026, at 2000 W Poplar St, Harrisburg, Illinois. The event is a community 5K running race that directs proceeds to Friends of Saline County Animals.
Pets are welcome and encouraged to participate, and foster dogs from Saline County will be present and available for adoption. A photo area will be set up for participants, family members, and pets. Free refreshments for participants and their pets will be available before and after the race.
Organizers will provide a map of the race course and the course will be clearly marked. Registration opens August 17, 2026, and closes October 17, 2026; the registration fee is $35.00. T shirts are included in the registration price for those who register before October 5.
The event will include a raffle of gift baskets. The top three finishers in each age group receive a medal. Age groups are divided into five sections: ages 5-19, 20-34, 35-50, 51-65, and 66 and older. Attendees may also bring pet related donations such as dog food, cat food, litter, or pet toys; donations will go to Friends of Saline County Animals.
