Ondessonk Trail Races
The Ondessonk Trail Races take place at Camp Ondessonk in Ozark, Illinois. This annual event includes several off-road distances that traverse the natural landscapes of the camp property. Participants can choose from a variety of course lengths that navigate through local forests, canyons, and pastures, specifically featuring spring wildflowers during this time of year.
The following distances are available:
- One-Mile Fun Run
- 5k Run
- Manchester 10k
- Half Marathon
The Half Marathon course leads runners through diverse terrain, including wooded areas and open pastures. The 10k and 5k events utilize the camp's trail system, while the One-Mile Fun Run is a family-oriented course that circles Lake Echon. All ages are permitted to participate in the 5k and the One-Mile Fun Run.
Registered participants receive a t-shirt, though specific size availability depends on the registration date. In the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon categories, trophies are awarded to the top male and female finishers.
