St. Albert Triathlon
The event takes place at the Grosvenor Outdoor Pool, a 25 metre outdoor pool at 1 Grenfell Avenue in St. Albert. Swimming occurs in the outdoor pool with lap counters to assist athletes. The bike course is a well marked 5.4 km loop on rolling, low traffic roadways; the loop is repeated depending on distance. The finish is on the soccer field above the pool where a photographer will be present.
Offered formats include sprint, aqua-bike, try-a-tri, and team relay:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim; four 5.4 km bike loops; 5 km run
- Aqua-Bike: 750 m swim; four 5.4 km bike loops
- Try-a-Tri: 250 m swim; two 5.4 km bike loops; 2.5 km run
- Team Relay: 750 m swim; four 5.4 km bike loops; 5 km run
There is no parking at the pool or Grandin Clubhouse; street parking is available nearby and drop off is recommended when possible. Transition racking is assigned by heat number. Package pickup is at the Grandin Club House and athletes must bring photo ID. The race includes a BBQ and a beer garden; each athlete aged 18 or older receives a ticket for a burger and a beer, which may be exchanged for a non alcoholic beverage. Photos will be taken during the event and results are published after the race. No refunds are offered but rollovers to the next year may be available at the race director’s discretion.
