5th Annual SSGT Taylor Hoover Memorial 5K & Community Event
The event is a community 5K run and walk with a virtual 5K option held at Worthington Park in West Memphis, Arkansas on September 19, 2026. Both the in person and virtual options cover a distance of 3.12 miles. Registration opens May 26 and closes September 19. Registration fees and benefits include adult registration with a memorial T shirt if registered by August 19, an upgraded adult option that adds a challenge coin if registered by August 19, and a youth registration that includes a youth T shirt. Virtual registrants will have shirts shipped, preferably by race day.
Activities at the site include live music, food trucks, merchandise vendors, inflatables for children, and a red white and blue after run celebration with free color powder for all ages. Pre race packet and T shirt pickup is scheduled for Friday, September 18 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at Worthington Park at S. Worthington Drive and N. Missouri Street. Day of registration and packet pickup begins at 8:00 AM. This is a rain or shine event, no refunds.
All proceeds support a memorial scholarship fund for local and national students who exhibit Honor, Courage, and Commitment and provide aid to veterans in need of service dogs.
