SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial 5K
The SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial 5K is a community road race held in Pageland, South Carolina at the Pageland Community Center, 1113 West McGregor Street. The 2026 event marks the 14th running and is part of the 2026 Pee Dee Grand Prix Race Series. All proceeds benefit the SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is awarded each year to a graduating senior from Central High School in Pageland. Scholarship applicants should demonstrate leadership and community service, and a current school year application can be printed from the event materials.
The event format centers on a 5K road race with awards based on gun time, including 1st through 3rd overall male and female and first male and female in each age group. Age groups are 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Packet pickup is available at the Pageland Community Center on race day and includes the race number, a purchased t-shirt, an admission ticket to the post-race lunch, and additional items.
Additional event elements include late registration on race day, a pre-race ceremony, post-race festivities and a BBQ chicken lunch for which non-racers may purchase a meal ticket for $15.
