Momentus Backyard Ultra
The Momentus Backyard Ultra is a Backyard Ultra event held at Williams Rushing Farm in Monroe, NC. The race uses the official Backyard Ultra format: runners complete a loop of 4.167 miles each hour, on the hour, and continue until only one runner remains. There is no predetermined finish or total distance.
The course is a mix of trail, grass, gravel, roots, and private farm roads with rolling terrain and about 100 feet of elevation gain per loop. A spacious runner basecamp provides designated crew areas and spectator viewing. A centrally located aid station offers water, electrolytes, coffee, and basic snacks, but runners are expected to be largely self supported and bring their own nutrition and hydration as needed. Personal aid and crew support are only permitted between loops in the designated basecamp area; no support is allowed while a runner is on course.
Camping is allowed in the designated runner village from arrival on race day until the final runner finishes. Grills and contained fire pits are permitted; open ground fires are not. Each runner may have one approved on site vehicle that fits a standard parking space; oversized vehicles and trailers are directed to overflow parking. Live music is part of the weekend and registered runners may contribute to a shared playlist. Spectators, food vendors, and live entertainment are available at the venue.
Early entry pricing is $135 for the first 50 runners, then increases to $155; UltraSignup registration fees are not included. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
