Sri Chinmoy Try-a-Tri - Tockington Manor, 2 August 2026
This Try-a-Tri is a Swim-Bike-Run-Mini triathlon aimed at first-time triathletes. It uses a 25 m heated indoor pool for the swim, a short bike loop on mostly flat minor roads, and an easy run on school sports pitches. The event is part of the Swim-Bike-Run series run in partnership with British Triathlon and is certified by the British Triathlon Federation.
The organisers provide regular guidance for participants, including emailed tips on training, equipment, transition and rules. The event limits entries to a modest field size typical of SBR-Mini races, and online entries are currently closed with a waiting list in operation. The race is open to youth entrants aged 15 and over at the end of the year, but it is not suitable for younger triathletes or for para-tri competitors due to pool access and run course constraints. Participants receive a Finisher's Medal on completing the course.
Distances:
- Swim 200 m in a heated 25 m indoor pool
- Bike 10 km on mostly flat minor roads, two 5 km loops
- Run 3 km on school sports field, five laps
The event is organised as a genuine triathlon while retaining a low-key, entry-level format and follows British Triathlon rules with usual beginner-event relaxations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
