About the race
The Sri Chinmoy Triple-Triathlon is a single-day off-road multi-sport event run in and around Canberra that links three swims, three mountain-bike stages and three runs into a continuous course totalling about 150 kilometres. The course travels through Canberra Nature Park and passes or climbs ten named peaks, with swim legs held in three separate lakes. The event format allows solo competitors or relay teams from three up to nine members. Timing and split recording occur throughout via numbered checkpoints and transition compounds; failure to be recorded at a checkpoint incurs a time penalty.
Transition compounds, aid stations and safety support are provided at set locations around the course, and many aid stations supply water, sports drink, food and basic bike repair. Helpers and team assistants are permitted under specified rules and access to transition compounds is restricted to officials, helpers with ID and team members involved in a changeover. Safety measures include swim buoy marking, presence of patrol boats, medical personnel and radios, compulsory participant waivers, and rules on permitted bicycles and equipment. Wetsuits are strongly recommended for the swims and may be mandated by race officials depending on conditions.
Road and shared-path courtesy is required at crossings and on public cycle paths, and gates in nature reserves must be closed after passage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
