Sri Chinmoy Spring Half Marathon - North Hagley Park
This event is held in North Hagley Park, Christchurch, in a parkland setting beside Victoria Lake. It comprises multiple races on a loop course and is described by the organisers as friendly and well supported.
Distances offered:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon (ages 15 and over)
- 10 km (ages 14 and over)
- Kids 2.5 km (ages 13 and under; parents or caregivers may accompany children at no extra charge)
All races take place on a 2.5 km loop that is marked with cones. The registration area and finish line are on the north shore of Victoria Lake; look for the red tents at that location. At registration participants receive a race number, which should be attached to the front of clothing or worn on a race belt so it is visible to timekeepers. One aid station is provided offering water and a Pure electrolyte drink. The park remains open to the public during the event.
Entry information includes online entries open until midnight on the Friday before the event and on the day entries accepted cash only with a late entry fee. Entry categories include standard and youth or concession rates, with an additional on the day fee. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. A complimentary vegetarian post race breakfast is provided for participants and supporters may purchase breakfast.
