Sri Chinmoy Spring Half Marathon in North Hagley Park
The event takes place on 27 September in North Hagley Park, Christchurch. It offers three race options on a 2.5 km loop course that is marked with cones. The registration area and finish line are located by Victoria Lake on the north shore and are identified by red tents.
Distances and age eligibility:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon ages 15 and over
- 10 km ages 14 and over
- Kids 2.5 km ages 13 and under
At registration participants receive a race number that must be attached to the front of clothing or worn on a race belt so it is visible to timekeepers. There is one aid station on course that provides water and a Pure electrolyte drink. The park remains open to the public during the event.
Entries are accepted online until midnight on the Friday before the event. On the day entries are accepted in cash with an additional $5 fee until shortly before each race starts. Standard entry fees are $40 for the half marathon, $25 for the 10 km, and $15 for the kids 2.5 km; youth and concession rates apply for eligible entrants. Parents or caregivers may accompany children in the kids race at no extra charge.
Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. Results and race photos are uploaded during the week after the event. A vegetarian post race breakfast is provided complimentary for participants; supporters may purchase breakfast for $10. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
