Oxford Self-Transcendence Summer Races
The Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Oxford is a series of evening running events held in Cutteslowe Park during the summer months. The races take place on a 1-mile loop that follows the edge of the park. The course primarily consists of grass surfaces, with a short paved section included in the circuit. The events begin near the duck pond on a portion of the route known as the Peace Mile.
Participants can choose to enter individual races or the entire series. Runners who pre-register for the full series use the same race number for all events, while those entering individual dates receive a new number for each race. The series offers multiple short-distance options:
- 2 miles
- 3 miles
- 1 mile (specific junior race)
The event is open to various age categories, ranging from under 14 to over 70. Junior runners are permitted to participate in all distances, provided they meet the age-specific requirements for the distance covered. Facilities at the venue include two car parks accessible from the A40 and park toilets located near the course. The races are licensed by England Athletics.
