Square Lake Sprint Triathlon
This event is a USAT certified sprint triathlon held at Square Lake Park in Stillwater, MN. The course includes a lake swim, a hilly bike route, and a run on quiet roads. Swim starts use a self seeded time trial format to space athletes.
Race options include the following distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: .5 mile swim, 18.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Aqua: .5 mile swim, 18.5 mile bike
Relay teams are permitted for any race option. Aid stations on course provide Hammer electrolytes. A professional photographer is on site at no additional cost and results are provided by FrontRunnerUSA.
Packet pick-up provides race bib, timing chip, finisher medal, and event shirt where selected. Parking at the park requires a one day pass for $7 unless a county pass is held. The event is open to athletes of all ages and abilities; children age 10 and older may participate when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Post-race activities include a community barbecue and an awards ceremony. Awards are given to overall top male and female finishers and to age group top finishers; winners must be present to receive awards. Timing chips are worn on the left ankle for triathlons.
