Square Lake 70.3
Square Lake 70.3 is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Square Lake Park in Stillwater, Minnesota (15450 Square Lake Trail). It is a USAT certified half-distance triathlon that offers individual and team relay options. The event uses a self-seeded time trial swim start. Registered athletes are asked to wear their timing chip on their left ankle.
Course and support
- 70.3: 1.2 mile swim, 57 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
- Aqua: 1.2 mile swim, 57 mile bike, no run
The bike course is a scenic two-loop route with bottle exchanges about every 13 miles. The run is a shaded out-and-back course with aid stations about every 1.5 miles providing Hammer electrolytes and gels; all run aid stations also offer Coke, oranges, and bananas. Results are provided by FrontRunnerUSA. A professional photographer will be on site at no additional cost.
Logistics and awards
Packet pick-up takes place at Square Lake Park on race day and includes race bib, timing chip, event shirt if selected, finisher medal, and nutrition samples. Parking at the park requires a one-day pass priced at $7. Awards go to the top overall male and female and the top three male and female athletes in each age group; age groups start at 19 and under and continue in standard 5-year increments up to 70+.
