Spring Trail Series
The Spring Trail Series is a trail running event held on 18 April 2026 at the Cowdray estate, West Sussex, within the South Downs National Park. The course follows sections of the Serpent Trail through greensand hills, rivers, woodland and lowland heath. The event lists a technicality of 1/5 and typical temperatures of 7 to 20°C.
All races start and finish at the same location near Cowdray Farm Shop, with parking available at the start and finish village. The event expects over 1,200 runners and walkers. An on-site expo offers merchandise, hot drinks and food, and camping pitches can be purchased for Friday and Saturday nights in the event village.
Race services include a fully marked course, medical support throughout the event, stocked aid stations and the opportunity to purchase event photography. The 110km entry includes a drop bag delivered to a mid-course point and GPS tracking is provided for some entries. Finishers receive a medal. Cut-offs are described as relaxed, with on average over two hours allowed per 10km between checkpoints.
If a competitor does not finish a stage, they are offered entry to the following edition of the race at half price; no finisher medal or official result is issued in that case. Entry fees for the event are listed from £35 to £120.
