The Spring Forward for Student Success 5K Run/Walk is a May 2026 event held in Greenwood, South Carolina, presented by the Piedmont Technical College Foundation. Course and location
The event is based at Piedmont Technical College, O'Dell Center, 620 N. Emerald Rd, Greenwood, SC 29646. The course consists of laps around the perimeter of the Lex Walters campus; participants in the 5K complete two laps, while walkers stop after one lap. The course is USATF certified.
Registration, shirts, and awards
Registration fees listed in the event materials are $30 for the 5K and $25 for the 1.5 mile walk. Late registration is offered on race day via mobile device. Every registered participant receives a T-shirt; sizes are limited and are ordered based on the size selected during online registration. Shirts cannot be exchanged.
Cash prizes for the 5K are listed for overall and masters (age 40 and up): 1st place $100, 2nd place $50, 3rd place $25. Top male and female finishers in each age category receive a special prize. An awards ceremony is included in the event schedule.
Weather and cancellation
Races are held rain or shine unless Piedmont Technical College determines conditions are too dangerous. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather, there are no refunds and registration proceeds are applied to the PTC Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
