Sportspectrum Firecracker 5k Race for Research
The Sportspectrum Firecracker is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana, with the event base at Mall St. Vincent parking lot behind Sears. The program includes a 5K road race and a kids 1/2 mile fun run for ages 1 to 10.

Registration has tiered pricing. An early promotional rate of $17.76 is available to the first 250 registrants, then general 5K fees progress through set dates up to a race day fee. The kids fun run also has staged pricing. Race shirts are available as a short sleeve tee or an adult tank top option; participants may decline an extra shirt for a reduced fee. Race day registration is possible but shirt availability is not guaranteed.
Packet pickup is held at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Avenue, across specific dates in late June and through the week before the event, with additional race day check in at the Mall St. Vincent site. Strollers and similar push vehicles are allowed on course at walking pace only; in line skates and roller skates are not permitted. Finishers in the kids fun run receive medals.
Prize structure includes cash awards for overall male and female winners and runners up, a course record bonus, commemorative mugs for early finishers, and a total prize pool stated by the organizer.
