SportsFest
SportsFest is an annual community event at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm that highlights youth sports and participation. The program is for youth entering grades K through 8 and runs rain or shine. The event includes a mix of structured activities and open challenge stations on the park fields and inside the Activity Center.
The SportsFest 3K Run is a fundraiser that benefits the City Youth and Teen Sports Programs. The course includes a mix of pavement and field terrain. Registration is required; registration opens April 1. The fee is $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents. Participants who register by June 16 are eligible to receive a City of Gaithersburg Sports T-shirt; additional shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
After the run, free sports challenge stations offer opportunities to test skills in soccer, football, baseball, track and field, basketball, volleyball and an inflatable obstacle course. T-shirts and prizes are awarded for completing challenges while supplies last. The event also features the City’s sports mascot, Coach G.
