Spooktacular Storybook 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The Friends of the Public Libraries of Cullman County present an annual storybook themed run on October 24, 2026, in Cullman, Alabama. The event supports local libraries and encourages participants to dress as book characters; costumes are eligible for prizes.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K Storybook 5K
- 1 Mile 1 Mile Fun Run
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age division for male and female categories, plus the top three overall male and female finishers. Check-in and packet pickup are located at the Cullman County Public Library at 200 Clark St NE, Cullman, AL 35055.
There are registration fees for each event; fees differ by distance. Registration options include online and in-person methods. Organizers request that pets remain at home or be kept at the start and finish areas; animals are not allowed to run the course for liability reasons.
Donations can be made without registering for the race; donating does not grant race entry. The event is presented with a storybook theme and includes community-oriented features such as costumes, awards, and library support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
