Mulberry Mile Trail Endurance Race
The Mulberry Mile is a 12-hour trail endurance race held at Whitewater Ranch in Hanceville, Alabama. The event takes place on a private 1-mile closed loop along the banks of the Mulberry Fork of the Black Warrior River. Participants can choose to run for the full duration or complete as many loops as they prefer within the 12-hour time limit. The course features an elevation change of approximately 90 feet, with two main uphill sections located at the 0.5 and 0.85-mile marks.
The race utilizes an "Open Course" format, allowing participants to pace themselves, rest as needed, and start at any point after the official commencement. The event is professionally RFID chip timed, though only completed whole loops are counted toward the final distance.
Available registration options include:
- Individual
- 2-Person Team
- 4-Person Team
Teams operate in a relay sequence with only one member on the course at a time. Exchanges must occur at the designated start and finish line. To support the participants, each solo runner or team is provided with a 10’x10’ crew site for hydration, nutrition, and recovery.
The event includes a fully stocked aid station at the start and finish area, and all participants receive a meal ticket for use during or after the race. Finisher medals are provided to all who complete at least one loop, with an option for free distance stamping. Awards are presented for various categories, including the furthest individual distance and the fastest completion of milestones such as 50 km, 50 miles, and 100 km.
