Event Overview
The Spokane River Run is a trail running event taking place on April 19, 2026, at Riverside State Park in Nine Mile Falls, Washington. It is described as one of the oldest trail runs in the Pacific Northwest and has been recognized in the Trail Runner’s Trophy Series. The event is entirely volunteer-organized.
Distances and Events
The race offers several distance options and team events:
- A 5K race for participants aged 13 and over, plus a separate 5K event for those aged 12 and under.
- A 10K race.
- A 25K race and a 25K Challenge.
- A 50K race.
- Two relay options: a 50K Relay and a 25K Tag Team, which is a two-person relay where each leg runs 7-8 miles.
Participant Perks
All registrants receive a race shirt, with size guaranteed for those who register before April 1. Runners in the 25K and 50K events may choose a "tech" tee. Finishers in the 25K and 50K distances receive a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group and gender category (non-binary/female/male) for each distance.
A post-race beer garden is hosted by Garland Brew Werks. The event includes a relay team name competition, with the winning team receiving custom shirts.
Logistics and Registration
Packet pickup is at a new location: Garland Brew Werks in Spokane on the Friday and Saturday before the race. A Washington State Parks Discover Pass is required for vehicle parking at the event site, and carpooling is encouraged.
The event funds the Garfield Elementary A.P.P.L.E. program and partner organizations, including Garfield Elementary, Active4Youth, On Track Academy, and North Central High School Cross Country. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
