Spokane Homelands 27K
The Spokane Homelands 27K is a trail race held entirely on the Spokane Indian Reservation near Fruitland, WA. The event starts and finishes at Anderson Ranch, a property operated by the Spokane Tribe’s department of Natural resources. The listed distance is 27K.
The course accumulates about 3,400 feet of elevation gain, with the majority of that climb occurring in the first 8.5 miles. Runners begin briefly on pavement, move onto a gravel road for the opening miles, and then follow an old service road. The route remains on double track for the full distance; these surfaces are uneven and require attention to foot placement.
The climb reaches the Westend Lookout Tower at the top of the mountain, and on clear days views can extend toward Airway Heights. After reaching the high point, the course returns along the same roads to the Anderson Ranch finish. The race location is roughly one hour from the city of Spokane and about thirty minutes north of Davenport. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
