Spokane Homelands 27k
The Spokane Homelands 27k is a trail race held on the Spokane Indian Reservation near Fruitland, Washington. The course begins with a short paved section, continues onto a gravel road, and then follows an old service road. The route runs entirely on double track; these roads are uneven and require attention to foot placement.
The course gains about 3,400 feet in total, with the majority of that elevation gained in the first 8.5 miles. Runners climb to the Westend Lookout Tower near the top of the mountain. On a clear day it is possible to see as far as Airway Heights from the lookout.
Start and finish are at the Anderson Ranch, which is owned and operated by the Spokane Tribe Department of Natural Resources. The race takes place entirely on tribal land and is located roughly an hour from the city of Spokane and about a half hour north of Davenport. Registration status is listed as coming soon.
