Spekbos Josty Trail Run Challenge
The Spekbos Josty Trail Run is a trail running event at Lategansvlei Soccer Stadium near Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape. It is organised by Jakhals Events and serves as a fundraiser for the Lategansvlei community. The routes go through Klein Karoo terrain and include sections that are only open to participants on race day.
The event offers varied terrain and scenic views characteristic of the Klein Karoo. The organiser lists a typical age range of 12 and up. Online entries close on 20 November 2026 and late entries are available on race morning.
Distances:
- 21 km Trail Run: for experienced trail runners seeking a longer route
- 14 km Trail Run: a demanding route for trail runners
- 5 km Fun Walk / Run: suitable for families and beginners
Entry fees are R200 for the 21 km, R150 for the 14 km, and R50 for the 5 km fun run or walk. Prize money is offered for top finishers in the 21 km and 14 km races. For the 21 km the first three prizes are R1,500, R1,000 and R500. For the 14 km the first three prizes are R750, R550 and R350. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
