Speedy PD
Speedy PD is an annual race and community event held at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, Kansas. The event features a Half-Mile Memorial Walk/Run followed by USATF-certified road races and an awards presentation. Packet pick-up is available inside the Holiday Inn at the Campus in Manhattan and on the morning of the event at Race Headquarters in the River Pond area of the park.
The courses are run entirely on paved roads and offer scenic views of the lake. The 5K course is very flat to the finish. The 10K course is also very flat and is shaded for much of the route. Volunteers and supporters line the course, and the routes are stroller friendly.
The event benefits Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. That program provides services across the Flint Hills region for people affected by Parkinson’s disease, including persons with PD, caregivers, therapists, and nurses. Donations support education, outreach, medical scholarships, medical care, and plans to create a Parkinson's resource center for the Kansas region.
