Speedy PD Race for Parkinson's Disease

Speedy PD is an annual running and walking event held at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, Kansas. The event includes in-person and virtual options and is organized to benefit the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program.

The event offers several distances and formats:

  • 0.5 Miles Half-Mile Memorial Walk/Run
  • 5K in-person race
  • 10K in-person race
  • 5K virtual race
  • 10K virtual race

Both the 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified since 2013 and are entirely on paved roads. The 5K is described as very flat to the finish. The 10K is also very flat and remains shaded for much of the route. Course features include scenic views of the lake and volunteers and supporters along the route. Routes are stroller friendly.

The event benefits the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program, which provides services across the Flint Hills region to improve quality of life for people affected by Parkinson's disease, including persons with Parkinson's, caregivers, therapists, and nurses. Donations support education, outreach, scholarships for medical purposes, medical care, and plans for a future Parkinson's resource center for the Kansas region.
