Speedy PD
Speedy PD is an annual community race held at Tuttle Creek State Park. The event features multiple course options on all-paved roads, with USATF certification for the 5K and 10K courses since 2013. The 5K is described as very flat to the finish, while the 10K is also flat and shaded through much of the route. Both courses offer scenic views of the lake and have volunteers and supporters along the route.
Distances offered include:
- Half-mile Memorial Walk/Run
- 5K road race
- 10K road race
The routes are stroller friendly and intended for family participation. Packet pick up is available inside the nearby Holiday Inn at the Campus in Manhattan and at Race Headquarters on the morning of the event.
Proceeds from the Speedy PD races and Memorial Run/Walk benefit the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. The program provides services across the Flint Hills region to support people affected by Parkinson’s disease, including persons with Parkinson’s, caregivers, therapists, and nurses. Donations help fund education, outreach, medical scholarships and care, and plans for a regional Parkinson's resource center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
