Speedy PD Race for Parkinson's Disease
The Speedy PD race is an annual event held at Tuttle Creek State Park in the River Pond area near Manhattan, Kansas. The event includes multiple course options and is set on all paved roads with scenic views of the lake.
Distances:
- Half Mile Memorial Walk/Run
- 5K
- 10K
The 5K and 10K courses have been USATF certified since 2013. The courses are described as very flat, with the 10K noted as shaded throughout. Volunteers and supporters line the route, and the race routes are stroller friendly so families can attend together.
The event benefits the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. That program provides services across the Flint Hills region to support people affected by Parkinson's disease, including persons with Parkinson's, caregivers, therapists, and nurses. Donations and race proceeds support education, outreach, medical scholarships, medical care, and plans for a future Parkinson's resource center for the Kansas region.
Packet pick up is available inside the Holiday Inn at the Campus in Manhattan and the morning of the race at Race Headquarters. Registration for the 18th annual Speedy PD is scheduled to open in Spring 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
