Event overview
Speedy PD is an annual 5K/10K running event with an accompanying Memorial Walk/Run. The event takes place at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, Kansas, with race headquarters in the River Pond area. The organizer publishes a schedule for packet pick up the day before the races at the Holiday Inn at the Campus in Manhattan and for race-day packet pick up at Race Headquarters. Course and distances
Both the 5K and 10K courses have been USATF certified since 2013. The courses are on all-paved roads. The 5K course is described as very flat to the finish. The 10K course is described as flat and shaded for much of the route. The routes provide views of the lake, have volunteers and supporters along the course, and are stroller friendly.

Beneficiary and purpose
The event benefits the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. The program provides services in the Flint Hills region for people affected by Parkinson’s disease, including persons with PD, caregivers, therapists, and nurses. Donations support education, outreach, medical scholarships, medical care, and plans for a Parkinson's resource center in the Kansas region.
