Speedy PD
Speedy PD is an annual race held at Tuttle Creek State Park (River Pond Area) in Manhattan, Kansas. The event includes multiple course options and supports the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program, which serves the Flint Hills region.
The event offers certified running courses: the 5K and 10K routes have been USATF certified since 2013. Both courses run entirely on paved roads. The 5K is described as very flat to the finish. The 10K is described as flat and shaded throughout. Both routes include scenic views of the lake and feature volunteers and supporters along the course. Routes are stroller friendly and open to family participation.
In 2026 the event takes place across two days in late August. Packet pick up is available inside the Holiday Inn at the Campus in Manhattan the day before the main race and also at Race Headquarters on race morning. The program portion of the event includes a half mile memorial walk or run in addition to the 5K and 10K distances.
Proceeds and donations benefit Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. The program provides services for persons with Parkinson's disease, caregivers, therapists, and nurses, and supports education, outreach, medical scholarships, medical care, and development of a Parkinson's resource center for the Kansas region.
