Event overview
The Special Olympics Kuringgai Chase Fun Run takes place on 14 June 2026 at Claude Cameron Grove, Westbrook Avenue, Wahroonga, NSW. The community event includes a fun run programme plus a carnival atmosphere and is presented in collaboration with Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore Club, Ku-ring-gai Council, Knox Grammar School and local supporters and sponsors. The course starts and finishes at Claude Cameron Grove and runs through the leafy streets of Wahroonga. One section known as "Kokoda Hill" provides elevated views over Ku-Ring-Gai National Park. The event supports fundraising for Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore, which supports more than 200 athletes.
Distances, format and entry
- 10 km - Two laps of the 5 km course.
- 5 km - One timed 5 km lap.
- 5 km walk - A walking option on the 5 km course.
- 2 km - A timed 2 km dash; described as a flat course.
Entry fee categories include early-bird, standard and on-the-day prices. Special Olympics athletes and companion card holders have reduced fees for each distance. A free "Fundraise Only" option is available for people who wish to create a fundraising page on behalf of Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore. A child discount is applied to children registering in the 10 km or 5 km events. Sponsors and raffle prize donors are listed in the event information.
