Southern Indiana 6K Walk/Run for Water - Bloomington, IN
The Southern Indiana 6K Walk/Run for Water is an event held at Olcott Park in Bloomington, Indiana, focused on fundraising for a World Vision water project. The event uses a 6 kilometer distance to reflect the average daily distance many people walk for water in parts of the developing world.
The route starts and finishes at the same location near the park restrooms at Olcott Park, 2300 E Canada Dr. The course begins with a counterclockwise loop around Olcott Park, continues onto the Jackson Creek Trail, makes a loop around the Goat Farm, follows Jackson Creek Trail to East Rhorer Road, then proceeds on South Sare Road past Jackson Creek Middle School to East Canada Drive and back to Olcott Park. Parking is available at Jackson Creek Middle School.
Event logistics include a registration fee of $50. Participant fundraising and donations support a World Vision water project: for every $50 raised, World Vision will provide sustainable, clean water to one woman or child. The stated 2026 fundraising goal is to provide clean water to 400 individuals by raising $20,000. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
