Event Details
The Southern Fauquier Ruritan 5K Run/Walk takes place on a Saturday in April. The event is organized by the Southern Fauquier Ruritan Club.
The Course
The course is 3.12 miles long and takes place on the property of Southern Heritage Farm in Midland, Virginia. The route follows wooded trails and includes bridges. Participants may see farm animals such as horses, chickens, and cows along the way.
The terrain is uneven, and the organizers note that strollers are not recommended. The event is held regardless of weather conditions. If it rains, the trail can become muddy and slippery.
Participant Information
All registered participants receive a finisher's medal, a t-shirt, and a goodie bag. They also receive a token for a burger or hotdog at a place called Brock's Bistro. An additional prize is awarded to the first-place male and female finishers.
Walkers are welcome, and participants may bring leashed dogs. Two to three water stations are provided on the course.
