Southern Fauquier Ruritan 5K Run/ Walk : Midland, VA (April 11, 2026)
The Southern Fauquier Ruritan 5K Run/ Walk is a community road/trail event held on the grounds of Southern Heritage Farm in Midland, Virginia. The event is described as the second annual edition and takes place on April 11, 2026.
The course covers 3.12 miles (5K) through wooded trails and includes bridges and farm scenery with horses, chickens, and cows. Organizers plan to operate the event rain or shine; if it rains before or during the event the trail may become muddy and slippery, effectively resembling a cross country or mud run. Two to three water stations are provided along the course.
All participants receive a finisher’s medal, a t-shirt, and a goodie bag, plus a token redeemable for a burger or hotdog at Brock’s Bistro. Additional prizes are awarded to the first-place woman and first-place man.
Walkers are welcome and leashed dogs are allowed on the property. Strollers are not recommended because trails are uneven. The event materials note that sponsorship opportunities exist. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
