About the race
Southend Pier Marathon is scheduled for 13 March 2027 in Southend on Sea. The event is organised by Sussex Trail Events and stages a full marathon on Southend Pier, which the organiser describes as the longest pleasure pier in the world at 1.34 miles.
The field is strictly limited to 100 runners and the minimum age for entry is 18. Entry is handled through SiEntries and requires a competitor account. Entries open 24 October 2026 and close 7 March 2027. Entry fees listed are £53 for attached runners and £55 for unattached runners; 49 participants were recorded on the entry list at the time of the event listing.
The race takes place on an open pier in March and is dependent on weather. The organiser states there is no cancellation insurance; if conditions are too rough the event may not be able to run and refunds may not be available. Competitors should note the event uses a single date and that the organiser has limited ability to change the arrangements.
A unique medal is planned for finishers. Further event terms and the cancellation policy are published with the event listing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
