South Wales NOT THE LONDON MARATHON 2027
Phoenix South Wales stages a timed multi distance event in Cardiff Bay on Sunday 25 April 2027. The route is a measured out and back lap of 5.3 km (3.28 miles) along tarmac and pavement with one short section on wooden boardwalk. Each lap has about 23 m elevation gain and loss per lap.
Distances available include:

- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they like within a seven hour time limit. The minimum distance recorded is one lap of 3.28 miles. Start and finish are located at the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay and the course passes the Barrage Control Centre viewpoint, the Senedd, the Pierhead Building, Roald Dahl Plass, the Wales Millennium Centre and the Torchwood Tower. The course is classed as Road for 100 Marathon Club purposes and holds a UKACM course accuracy certificate 25/504. A Welsh Athletics race license has been applied for.
Organisers operate flexible rock up and run start times and may accommodate special start time requests depending on distance. Standard entries include a bespoke finishers medal and organisers are trialling a no medal entry option from £20. Entry fees listed include £33 affiliated and £35 unaffiliated.
