South Salem Memorial Day Races
This is an annual Memorial Day running event held in South Salem, New York, with the Lewisboro Library on Main Street serving as the race base. Multiple events are offered for a range of ages and interests.
Event distances and formats include:
- 10K (USATF certified course)
- 5K (USATF certified course)
- Mile Fun Run
- MS Health Walk
- Pee Wee Dash
The 10K and 5K certification allows finishing times to be accepted as records and nationally ranked. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall in the 5K, 10K, the combined challenge and the mile fun run. A combined challenge entry lets a participant run the 10K and the 5K with separate times posted and a combined challenge time; the combined entry fee is listed as $50.
Race-day services include live online, text and email results, same-day finish line photos provided free of charge, and personalized bibs for entrants who register at least three weeks in advance. Day of race packet pickup is based at the Lewisboro Library; virtual bibs are mailed to registrants. Parking is available at the library, at a nearby Spring Street lot and along portions of Spring and Main Street.
A portion of proceeds supports the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and local families affected by multiple sclerosis. Registration is not yet open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
