South Salem Memorial Day Races
The South Salem Memorial Day Races is an annual multi-event running day held around Memorial Day with races and community activities based at the Lewisboro Library, 15 Main Street, South Salem, NY 10590. The event includes a set of road races and shorter community runs and walks.
Event distances and activities:
- 10K
- 5K
- Mile Fun Run
- MS Health Walk
- Pee Wee Dash
The 5K and 10K courses are certified by U.S.A. Track and Field, allowing finishing times to be used for record purposes and national ranking. Results are provided live via online, text, and email, and same-day finish line photos and free video are available.
Awards are presented for the top three male and female overall finishers in multiple events, including the 5K, 10K, the combined Challenge Run, and the Mile Fun Run. The Challenge Run combines separate 10K and 5K race times for a combined challenge time and has its own award categories; there is an entry option for athletes who wish to run both races.
Race day packet pickup and the event base are located at the Lewisboro Library. Parking is available at the library and nearby Spring Street lots, and portions of Spring and Main Street allow parking. A portion of proceeds supports the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to assist local families affected by multiple sclerosis. Virtual participants can submit times and photos after the event, and bibs may be mailed to registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
