South Downs Trail Run

The South Downs Trail Run takes place on Saturday 7th November 2026 at Goodwood Racecourse, Chichester (PO18 0PS). The event previously attracted over 1,000 runners. The route runs into the South Downs National Park and returns to Goodwood, passing Levin Down and a stretch of the South Downs Way. The course includes forest fire roads, bridleways and single-track trails, with a downhill into East Dean followed by a final climb before the finish. Canicross entries are offered alongside the standard races. The event is dog friendly; one dog per runner is allowed.

Course and logistics

Course signage uses PINK arrows and PINK tape; hazards and road junctions are marked with "Caution" signs. GPX files are available for each distance. Entry includes chip timing, a bib number, water stations, first aid on course, a finisher medal, a drink and finisher goodies, and a personalised certificate. The event operates a plastic-free policy; participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Bibs are collected on arrival and should be displayed on the front. Spectators are welcome.
