South Africa Johannesburg Arch Marathon - July 11, 2026
The event is the South Africa Johannesburg Arch Marathon, listed as the first race in the Africa Challenge series that runs from July 11 to July 31, 2026. The series comprises nine marathons in nine countries with a compact itinerary that allows travel between events by direct flights.
This race is based in Johannesburg South, South Africa. The host hotel for the event is Johannesburg Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch and the course is set at James & Ethel Gray Park. The host hotels are planned as the start areas for each race course, with other nearby accommodation options possible.
Entry is limited to a small field for each race. Early bird entries are capped at 20 runners per event and registration for each race will close when that limit is reached or two days before the event. Early bird registration includes a finisher medal, a bib number and an official finisher time posted online; late registrants are not guaranteed a medal. There are no refunds and the organizer may reject registrations.
Operational notes: bib distribution and the mandatory race briefing are held at the host hotel the evening before the race. Timekeeping is controlled by appointed timekeepers under the race director. Runners must carry a GPS device with sufficient battery life as an additional distance control. Participants are responsible for visas, travel insurance and their own drinks and nutrition; races may run in parks and may not have official road permits. Participation is at each runner's own risk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
