Sourton Tor Race
The Sourton Tor Race is a fell running event held in the village of Sourton. This event serves as the final race of the summer series and features an updated course that includes a higher proportion of uphill sections and a modified starting point. The race venue is located at the Sourton village hall, situated next to the local church.
The event provides distances for both senior and junior participants:
- 2 km for juniors under the age of 11.
- 3 km for juniors under the age of 13.
- Senior distance available for participants over 13 years of age.
Junior courses are designed to run up the hill and back again. These routes are marked and intended to be easy to navigate. Participants as young as eight years old may enter the junior categories, provided they have parental permission. Juniors aged 13 and over are permitted by the Fell Runners Association (FRA) to compete in the senior race.
Registrations are accepted on the day of the event. Facilities near the start and finish include parking areas and a local pub. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
