Fifth Annual Turkey Trot : Adventist Health Sonora
Adventist Health Sonora’s Diabetes Resource Center organizes the Fifth Annual Turkey Trot on November 26, 2026, in Sonora, California. The event is free and family-friendly and takes place at Discover Life Seventh-day Adventist Church, 40 North Forest Road, Sonora, CA 95370. It is held in recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month and highlights physical activity as a way to reduce risk for type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and depression.
The event program includes both a community-oriented fun run and a timed road race through historic downtown Sonora. Additional features are a costume contest with a prize listed as Cover’s Mile-High Apple Pie, and a canned food drive to benefit the ATCAA Food Bank; participants are asked to bring non-perishable items to support families in the Mother Lode. A registration link will be made available in October.
Typical event activities include registration, a group warm-up led by Adventist Health Fitness Center instructors, costume contest voting, the race, and presentation of awards at the conclusion.
