Ironstone Vineyards Wine Run 5k
Ironstone Vineyards Wine Run is a chip timed 5k run/walk held at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, California. The course uses a two-lap route that tours the vineyard landscape and scenery. Results are posted online by the timing provider.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T shirt, a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass, a finisher medal, and a race bib. Registered participants also receive a pour of wine at the finish. Packet pickup is scheduled on Saturday at the winery; race day pickup is available with an earlier arrival recommended. One person may pick up for a friend by presenting their QR code.
The event names PAWS as its local charity partner; PAWS works on protection of performing animals, sanctuary care for abused and retired captive wildlife, preservation of wild species and habitats, and public education about captive wildlife issues.
Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each ten year category, with categories from 19 and under up to 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. Age group medals are available for pickup one hour after the start of the first wave and are only distributed on the day of the event.
Walking is permitted. Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib but not the wine glass or wine pour. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground. Dogs are not permitted on site due to USDA restrictions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
