Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest 5K
Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest 5K is an event at Sonder Brewing in Mason, Ohio on September 26, 2026. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Root Beer Fun Run held on the same course. The festival features ten local breweries serving German beers, festive food, kids activities, live music and an all day festival atmosphere. Participants receive a free beer ticket or root beer and a finisher medal.
Medals are awarded to all finishers and there are awards for the top three male and female finishers. Additional prizes recognize the largest team and the best individual and team Oktoberfest costumes. Strollers are welcome and well behaved dogs are allowed on leash. Packet pick up is available Friday, September 25 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sonder Brewing and Saturday morning at Sonder Brewing from 9:00 am to 9:30 am. In person registration is available on the day of the event.
The Kids Root Beer Run is a short dash on the 5K course that finishes over the same finish line. Registered children receive a swag bag, root beer, a sweet treat and a finisher medal. Age groups range from toddlers through 10 years with 10 yard and 50 yard dash distances.
The event benefits Greater Project, a Cincinnati based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports orphaned and vulnerable children locally and in Kenya and India. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
