Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest 5K
Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest 5K is a charity run and community festival held at Sonder Brewing in Mason, Ohio. The event benefits Greater Project, a Cincinnati based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports orphaned and vulnerable children locally and abroad.
The event combines a 5K run/walk with an all day Oktoberfest celebration featuring several local breweries serving German beers, festival food, kids activities, and live music. Participants receive a free beer ticket or root beer and a finisher medal. Medals are awarded to all finishers and awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Prizes are offered for the largest team and for the best individual and team Oktoberfest costumes. Strollers are welcome and well behaved dogs are allowed on leash.
A Kids Root Beer Run takes place after the main event on the same course and finishes over the main finish line. Registered children receive a swag bag, root beer, a sweet treat, and a finisher medal. Age groups are divided as follows:
- 3 years and under 10 yard dash, parents may run alongside
- 4 to 5 years 50 yard dash
- 6 to 7 years 50 yard dash
- 8 to 10 years 50 yard dash
Packet pick up is available at Sonder Brewing on the Friday before the event and the morning of the event. In person registration is available on site the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
