Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest 5K
Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest 5K is a community event at Sonder Brewing in Mason, Ohio on September 26, 2026, benefiting Greater Project, a Cincinnati based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports orphaned and vulnerable children locally and abroad.
The event combines a timed 5K run/walk with a family festival that features seven local breweries serving German beers, festive food, kids activities, live music, and all day festival programming. Participants receive a free beer ticket or root beer and a finisher medal. Medals are awarded to all finishers and top three male and female finishers receive awards. Prizes are given for the largest team and for best individual and team Oktoberfest costumes. Strollers are welcome and well behaved dogs on leash are permitted.
The Kids Root Beer Run is a short fun dash on the same course with distances of 10 yards or 50 yards. Registered children receive a swag bag, root beer, a sweet treat, and a finisher medal. Age groups are divided from toddler through 10 years; parents may run alongside toddlers in the youngest group.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before and the morning of the event at Sonder Brewing. In-person registration is available on the Saturday of the event. Registration fees listed for 2026 include a $25 fee for the 5K and Sip & Support entries and a $10 fee for the Kids Root Beer Run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
