Solsberry Hornet 5K
The Solsberry Hornet event is an out and back 5K course that passes through the intersection of downtown Solsberry, Indiana, and finishes on a notable uphill section described as a big hill finish. The event offers separate entry types for running and walking.
There are two registration categories: a 5k Run entry for those who intend to run (walking is allowed if needed) and a 5k Walk entry that is walk only and does not permit running. Registration opens April 20, 2026 at 07:15 and closes July 9, 2026 at 23:59. The registration fee is $25.00. Day of registration and check in take place inside the Solsberry United Methodist Church.
All proceeds benefit the boys and girls cross country and track and field teams at Eastern Greene Schools. Awards are planned for the top overall male and top overall female run finishers; the top two overall male walkers and top two overall female walkers; and the top finishers in the following runner age groups: 0-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-59, and 60 plus. Walkers receive awards for the top two in each gender category.
Commemorative shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by July 10 at midnight. A No Shirt option is available and reduces the cost by five dollars at checkout; participants are asked to enter their size during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
