Event Overview
The Race for Restoration is a community athletic event held at Bloomington High School North in Indiana. Organized by the BHSN Environmental Club in partnership with Perfect Timing Race Management LLC, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Sycamore Land Trust. This nonprofit organization focuses on preserving southern Indiana’s natural landscape, restoring habitats such as wetlands and forests, and providing environmental education programs.
Course Details
The race route is well-marked and utilizes both school grounds and local roads. The course begins next to the bleachers of the Bloomington High School North track and field facility. Participants travel along Kinser Pike, complete a loop on Acuff Road, and move onto Prow Road. The final segment of the race returns to the Bloomington North campus, finishing with a 300 meter stretch on the Ralph Sieboldt Track.

The event includes the following options for participants:
- 5k Run (In-person)
- 5k Walk (In-person)
- 1 mile Kids Run
- 5k Virtual Run/Walk (Medals and t-shirts are not provided for virtual participants)
Awards and Recognition
All in-person participants receive a completion medal. Awards are available for pickup at the registration table immediately after finishing. For the 5k Run, awards are presented to the winner of various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over, divided into male and female categories. The 5k Walk recognizes the top three overall finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
