Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 - Springfield
This event represents the 13th stop in the Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 series, taking place in Springfield, the capital of Illinois. The run is part of a statewide initiative to support the community and raise awareness for those living with ALS. Participants join a collective effort that follows the historic Mother Road, specifically focusing on the intersection of Route 66 and the legacy of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site.

The 6.6 km distance is a symbolic reference to the 2,400-mile journey of Route 66. During the event, participants have the opportunity to complete the 2.1 mile shared segment alongside a solo runner who is traversing the entire Illinois stretch of the highway.
