The Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 Stop 13 in Springfield is a 6.6K run and walk that passes through Springfield’s historic district and centers on the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. The event uses sections of the iconic Route 66 pavement and finishes near preserved streets and historic homes in the city.
This stop is part of a statewide series that honors those living with ALS. The series includes a shared 2.1 mile Sidekick segment at each stop in which participants run alongside a runner completing the Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo in solidarity with affected families. The event offers a custom Stop 13 bib, a Springfield Route 66 charm to add to the official series medal, and a post-run celebration with the Spirits Run community. Event shirts are optional and available for purchase during registration.
