Solidarity Sidekick down Route 66 - Stop 3 Joliet

Stop 3 of the Solidarity Sidekick series takes place in Joliet on August 31, 2026. The activity meets at the Old Joliet Prison (1125 Collins, Joliet, IL 60432) and follows a route along historic Route 66 for a 6.6K out-and-back course that returns to the meeting location.

After the run there is a relaxed cool down and refreshments available for participants and supporters. Every participant receives a swag bag, a finisher medal, and access to the post-race celebration.

This event is one stop in a series that supports a runner covering the Illinois stretch of Route 66 to raise awareness for ALS; the series organizes small solidarity runs alongside that journey in successive communities. The series includes progressive rewards: completing the first nine events earns a commemorative medal, while completing all 18 stops earns three medals and three specialized shirts reserved for full-series finishers.

Registration for this stop opens May 19, 2026 and closes June 1, 2026. The listed registration fee is $40.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
