The Solidarity Sidekick down Route 66 - Stop 3 - Joliet 6.6K is a running and walking event held in Joliet, Illinois. This event is the third stop in a series of solidarity runs taking place across the Illinois stretch of historic Route 66. The series is organized to raise awareness and funds for ALS.
Participants gather at the Old Joliet Prison to navigate a course that travels down Route 66 and returns to the starting location. The event honors the Route 66 Centennial. Available distances include:

After completing the course, participants can take part in a post-race celebration that includes a cool-down session and refreshments. Each person who takes part receives a swag bag and a finisher medal.
This series is part of a larger initiative supporting a continuous run across the state. Participants have the opportunity to earn additional rewards by completing multiple stops in the series. Those who finish the first nine events receive a commemorative medal, while those who complete all 18 stops in the full series receive three medals and three specialized shirts.
