Solidarity Sidekick down Route 66 - Stop 3 Joliet 6.6K
This event is a community run on August 31, 2026 in Joliet. Participants gather at the Old Joliet Prison and follow Route 66 out and back for a total distance of 6.6K. The run marks a celebration of the Route 66 centennial.
After the run there is a relaxed cool down and refreshments available for participants and supporters. Every participant receives a swag bag and a finisher medal and has access to a post race celebration.
The stop is part of a series of small solidarity runs held along the Illinois stretch of Route 66 to raise awareness for ALS. The series supports a runner who is completing the entire Illinois section and includes community events held mile by mile.
