Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 – Stop 14 – Divernon 6.6K
The event is a 6.6 kilometer run/walk held in Divernon at the restored historic gas station on the corner of Brown Street and Reichert Road. The course begins at the restored Route 66 station, which features classic pumps and restored signage that reflect the town's Route 66 heritage.
This stop is part of a multi-stop series that supports a solo runner completing the Illinois stretch of Route 66 to honor people living with ALS. At each stop participants join the solo runner for a shared Sidekick segment of about 2.1 miles to symbolize solidarity.
Participants receive a custom Stop 14 Divernon bib and a Divernon Route 66 charm that attaches to the official series medal. Event shirts are optional and available for purchase during registration. After the run there is a post-run celebration with the Spirits Run community.
