Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 - Stop 14 - Divernon 6.6K
The Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 Stop 14 event is a 6.6K run/walk located at Divernon’s restored historic gas station, at the corner of Brown St and Reichert Rd, Divernon, IL 62530. The restored station includes classic pumps and vintage Route 66 signage and serves as the course anchor and meeting point.
This stop is part of a multi-stop series that supports ALS awareness. The series accompanies a runner who is covering the Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo to honor people living with ALS. At each stop participants join the runner for a shared 2.1 mile Sidekick segment intended as a symbolic act of solidarity.
Event features noted by the organizer include:
- 6.6K course beginning at the restored Divernon gas station
- Virtual 6.6K option with registration available into October 2026
Participants receive a custom Stop 14 Divernon bib and a Divernon Route 66 charm to add to the official series medal. Event shirts are optional and available for purchase during registration. The event includes a post-run celebration with the Spirits Run community and is described as community-driven and open to all paces. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
