Solar 5k/15k
The Solar 5k/15k is a summer running event organized by Team Brunazzi Events. Now in its 13th year, this race was previously known as the Polar Vortex. The event takes place in Boston, Pennsylvania, and is sanctioned by USATF.
The race offers two distances for participants:
- 5k
- 15k
The course consists of a flat rails to trails path featuring a crushed limestone surface. Water stops are located at specific intervals, including the 5k turnaround at mile 1.55 and the 15k turnaround at mile 4.66. Runners are required to participate without headphones or pets.
Awards are provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in the masters categories. Age group medals are distributed to the top three finishers in various divisions ranging from 10 and under up to 70 and over. Medals and race shirts are not mailed to participants and must be collected on-site.
Preregistered participants receive an event shirt if they sign up by the specified ordering date. After this deadline, extra shirts are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
