Sokolský běh republiky - San Francisco

Sokolský běh republiky in San Francisco will take place on Sunday 25 October 2026 as a race format event. The race may not use electronic timing devices, but results and the announcement of winners will be provided. Participants collect a race pack on site that includes a bib and small partner gifts, and all finishers receive a medal in the shape of the republic.

The event meeting and facilities are at Seals Point Park, with race facilities in Ryder's Park Picnic Area. The park offers a playground, toilets, drinking fountains, picnic tables and grills. Parking is available on site.

Distances

• 4 km main race for adults
• 850 m children's race for birth years 2012 to 2016
• 400 m children's race for birth years 2017 and younger

The main 4 km route starts by the playground, follows a sandy path up a hill, descends to the shoreline, continues north along a flat asphalt sidewalk for roughly one kilometre, then returns on a parallel path to finish back at the playground. The course is suitable for parents with strollers and for walkers. Both children's routes follow the established sandy hill path with views of the bay and San Francisco.

After the race there is a communal lunch potlach. Sokol SF and the Czech School of California will provide charcoal for grilling and light refreshments, and additional dishes to share are welcome.
