Sofia Marathon
The Sofia Marathon is a multi-day running event held in the capital of Bulgaria. The event carries the World Athletics Road Race Label, reflecting its standing in international road running. The competition is spread over two days, featuring five distinct races to accommodate different running preferences and distances.
A variety of distances are available for participants:
- 42.195 km Marathon
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 2 x 21 km Relay

- 5 km FIB Mass Run
The event includes a Running Expo that takes place in the days leading up to the main races. To support the participants, the organizers provide refreshment stations along the courses. In previous years, the Sofia Municipality has coordinated with the event to ensure extended metro services for those attending or participating. The marathon also focuses on sustainability through its Green Mission initiatives and incorporates music along the course to enhance the environment for runners.
